With a road frontage and the main entrance opposite Hill Farm on the Felmersham Road, just to the Nort East of Carlton village centre, this irregular shaped block of land extends North to the River Great Ouse, where opposite are the grounds of Harrold Odell Country Park. To the most westerly boundary runs the Carlton Road that links the villages of Carlton to Harrold. Double timber field gates and a timber pedestrian gate give access to an area of hardstanding and a recently constructed open fronted field shelter. The pedestrian gate provides access to a public footpath which leads through to the Carlton Road.

The wood has been fenced with post and wire net and there is a gated entrance, also there is an area self-seeded scrubland that is primarily native shrubs such as Blackthorn and Hawthorn, both the wood and the scrubland provide a haven for wildlife, and beyond is a very pretty and secluded riverside meadow.
